    Change is good.

With the iPhones overwhelming success, if this is true, it's nothing but good news.

This will also teach impulse control to many.

so it is normal. this does not mean that anyone, technician or CEO, said it is acceptable. the technicians notes, imho, seem to merely state that the phone works as expected, normally, regardless of the networks issues.

Thanks for saying it before I had to. Normal does not mean acceptable. Just like it's normal to be overweight in the U.S., this does not make it acceptable (although many seem to think so and take pride in it).

I'm noticing a little quicker general UI navigation, but the third party apps still don't show their launch animation unless opened first, exited, and then launched again. Only once loaded into the memory can you go from app to home screen to app and see the full animation.

Yet, oddly, Apple's stock apps are entirely unaffected.

Don't know what you mean by launch animation. Be gentle.

    N/M

I opened Sirus, exited, opened FIFA 11, exited, went into Sirus again with no lag time. Is that what you are talking about?

Finally Apple are back from those awful tanking sales G4 years, though will they ever break through that 5% glass ceiling?

yes, over the years, the general public gets smarter, just look at the evolution of computing from dirty backrooms and offices to the living room. Macs are bound to grow

sigh...Apple exports from China and imports to America. Just another reason not to buy AAPL.

Is this remark supposed to be taken seriously? I have no idea what you are driving at here.

are you suggesting we give him a pass?

Where the **** did I ever suggest anything of the sort?

Because I'm not jumping for joy and mindlessly chanting it means I didn't want justice done for a mass murderer?

Who was talking about stretches earlier?

Neither. Get a real chair: http://www.hermanmiller.com/Products/Aeron-Chairs

Really though, if you are looking for looks, get the Eames knock-off. If you want comfort and longevity, invest in a good chair.

I do not have $879 to spend on a chair and if I did I would not. It's a chair! :D

I have never been a fan of the teardrop form factor.

Why? I loved my iPhone 4 (before I lost it) but my 3GS is far easier to hold.

I still prefer the iPhone4 design aesthetically, but the reason is the awesomeness of the exterior metallic antenna look, rather than the rectangular block shape. Although, a teardrop design would mean the loss of the external antenna, which would be disappointing from an aesthetic point of view, but something I could live with.

What product will the T-Mobile chic bash now???

The same one: AT&T's network. The phones never really mock the phone so much as they mock the slow network.

That calendar is just ugly. I don't like where Apple is going with this UI realism. If I want a calendar that looks like that then I will go out and buy a real one.

So am I the only one left with the original iPhone? Had it since Sep 2006. Was going to wait for the 5, but I'll just get a white 4 in a few weeks. I'm happy.

I am in the same boat as you. I think you and I are the only people in the planet that has the original iphone. Not sure if I will get the white4 or wait for the 5.

Safe to say at this point we will have to wait. Man, I had that upgrade waiting. But then again, what's another three months to wait from the usual release date?

3 months... Or more, we don't know, that's the problem. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S2, an outstanding phone(reviews say), will be in the market. Apple, wake up.

Does anybody else see the 9.6 inside the apple?
    Sept. 6th?

    Whatever it means, it's interesting.

After you point it out, yes, I do, but I can't imagine that Apple would give ANY clues to future release dates/announcements.

They did with the iPad 2.

About $50 US per Gig for additional RAM from Apple... Just a minor beating this time, instead of an all out rape like they usually do compared to third party.

Wish I had the money to get one right away.

Apple needs to get serious about security. They cannot develop such an integrated, holistic line of products ("in your den, car, pocket,...") without tightening their security.

Windows Vista is NOT Windows XP. Apple risks lagging behind in that area and, in an ironic reversal of fortune, being widely considered as inferior to Microsoft in terms of security.

But if we agree that the development of a secure OS is all about utilizing sound design, coding and auditing processes, then we must also accept that the challenge will be very difficult for Apple to meet: You just cannot do that with Open Source...

Maybe it's about time Apple closed the Mac OS kernel?

This means you can't use the *same* installation of Vista Home inside a virtualization technology on the "licensed device".
This is incorrect. The license says nothing at all about the "same installation" or any such nonsense. If that's what they meant, that's what they would have written.

The clause is there so that MS can lean on companies that want to buy bargain basement Windows and run multiple instances of it under Linux. They want customers to pony up for the expensive version if they want to do that at all.

This isn't the type of clause that would make sense for them to try to audit personal users, too much cost for too little revenue. Business users really do need to avoid the home versions if they want to run virtually.
