It is more than likely a computer glitch but it's always worth it to check with the USCIS. A few years ago the status on one my approved old H-1B cases changed from Approved to Initial Review. It shows the same (Initial Review) status till date. It did not affect my current and/or future H-1B approvals.

Smerchas...Are you sure about what this? From what I remember, you have to be in the country when you apply for your AP...But there is no necessity that you need to be here when it is approved !
Technically, you can ask your attorney or the person who is living at the address where the AP document would be sent by the USCIS, and request them to forward the approved AP to your then current address...That way, you don't have to stay in the country while USCIS processes your application...
Ofcourse, the flip side is, if your AP is denied for any reason, you would have to go to the US consulate in wherever country you are and request the special admission letter...

I think "Advance Parole" means just that, you have to have it in Advance of leaving the country for it to have any meaning. Please do check with a lawyer before taking any step that may cause heartburn later. Best wishes and good luck.

i assume you're using cross-chargeability of your husband's country of birth.
if that is the case, swiss eb2 had current pd, so you should get your gc in 6-9months.EB-2, 485 and 140 submitted in June 2007 concurrently, RD and PD both are June 2007. I borrowed my husband's Swiss nationality. Now 140 approved, AP and EAD got, but NC is still pending.
Just curious: When will USCIS process my 485? According to my nationality or my husband's? If it's mine, god, I may have to wait for 4, 5 years because of the terrible VB backlog! Is it after 485, everyone no matter which nationality, the processing time should be the same. All the world line up together. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My Employer had not paid me for 5 weeks. Yesterday, I filed the complain to DOLI, VA. Lets see how it would go. I would recomend, if you have waited so long to get your salary dont get affraid to file the complain. It might be slow but definate success.

it is possible for company B to apply as a future employee. But if you do not join company B after the GC is approved, it constitutes fraud on your part and that of the company.

Senator Obama has filed the "Citizenship Promotion Act 2007" which
tries to alleviate this process and mandate the FBI to perform this in
a reasonable timeframe without limiting US Security.
following is an exceprt of this.
"...Act to limit the timeframe of the FBI name check and background
check. We ask of the honorable members of the Congress and Senate to
approve Senator Obama's Act in its entirety and facilitate the
feasibility of it. As the security of this country is considered a
priority, it is important that the adequate budget and resources are
devoted to the security checks ..."
This sounds like a good initiative to help out all of us that finally end up making in I-485. Suggest we rally all IV members to sign this petition:

uuuhhh. I can atleast respond to the drink question! use your passport. that is valid proof of age. The law does not require everyone to have a drivers license. Driving is a privilage.......not a right. So, feel free to take your passport in as proof of age and enjoy the drinks :D
Well your temporary license is as good as ur old license. Does it have your picture and DOB..if so then take that along..passport should be avoided as long as not necessary(to prevent it from getting lost).

SO as soon as the finger printing is done, within a fraction of a second, they match your fingerprints to the criminals and even let you know that by displaying a Red sign. Cant believe a Senior member can come up with such an explanation.
Leos link has the answer, the red Not match found error is simply an error between your finger prints taken together and then done individually.
The Service rep also individually goes thru all the FPs to check if the FPs taken together match those done individually.

My friends recently went to the consulte in Nogales to get their H1B stamped and they told me that we can enter Nogales with out any visa ... You might want to explore that or find any other places that are closer to where u live and do not need a visa to get a new I94 ...

No point worrying over past. Go ahed and file a AR11 ASAP to make sure from now on USCIS has your updated address. In case in future this becomes an issue then contact a lawyer and try to resolve it.
But moving forward all non immigrants as well as GC holders should make sure they do not miss this important obligation to inform USCIS within 10 days of move. It is easy process and saves lots of trouble later on.

Yes, you can go out of US and use that time to recapture as long as you go within 6 yrs of H1. This is my understanding from my conversation with lawyer working to file my perm. I am planning to travel to India for a month or two once I know the exact time I need. Please help to advice if my understanding is inacccurate.
