If you have your latest H1B approved, old Stamp is still valid. Just inform your attorney and take the papers that your attorney will pass on. Plus your employment letter+recent pay stubs, just the regular stuff.

I plan to go to India and be back in 1 week, my employer would issue me a leave approval letter. My present employer is a big hospital-non profit and I am a health professional.
Can some one tell if would need to get a new visa stamped if I come back by 15th January 2011. What documents should I carry. Should I talk to a lawyer before I leave. My mom is stable now but I am afraid If dont go now, I might not be able to gor a long time as I dont want to get re-stamping done.
Please advice

My I-140 was approved on 5/8/2008 and my attorney received the original approval notice on 5/14/2008. The online status on uscis website was like "approved, approval notice sent" at that time. But since 5/22/2008, the onlien status changed again into:
Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On May 22, 2008 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
Anybody has any idea what this "New document" could be? My attorney said he has not received anything yet. Thanks in advance.

Are you just trying to get people to click somewhere so that it generates ads revenue for you. The links you provided only open up windows that shows ads. I think you are a thug because don't have correct profile here, at the same time you are using some other webiste to track your GC to generate revenue for someone else, and now you are trying to lure people to visit that site. Its probably a good thing that LCA laws are being enforced. If a person hasn't gone on the bench and has a valid LCA, I don't think that person would be affected by this.
Consulting companies who adjust with the times and work to comply with the enforcement might come out of this stronger when the recession ends.

Even though receipts are generated based on received date, I assume they will process by priority date , if not what is use of priority date after filing I-485?

My check was cashed on 08/31. Based on the receipt numbers on the back of the check, online status shows that receipts were mailed on 08/31, but I haven't received till date. On 10/01, I called customer service and made them create service request. No progress so far. I am planning to call sometime next week and find the status of the service request.
Is anyone in the similar situation of not receiving the receipts even after check has cashed way back.

Based on my recent experience - H1 B 1 year extension, not 3 years, was based on the approval date, not receipt date of the application. :o
However, to be safe, I guess after Aug 17th is a pretty good bet

Also you could shoot up the small band market. Thats how I got started. I was managing bands then they asked me to build their websites. Go to a local club or venue on local band night and hand out your card.
The nice thing about bands is that are willing to push the limites on what one can do with flash and webdesign in general.

I would think writing back to the Senator's office regarding your email and the unrelated response you got from the office has frustrated you, as the Senators does not seem to understand the problems, and therefore you are asking for an appointment to meet with the senator and explaining it personally.
You may not get the appointment to meet with the Senator, but you will let them know how badly they are screwing up constituents complaints. By following up and actually meeting with an immigration staff members in the Senator's office will be good.

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

Really makes me feel awful when I come across someone who is waiting since 2001 for labor.. This system is seriously broken.. I myself had to wait for over three years to get my labor, and I know how frustrating it is.. I have two friends with priority date older than mine, and they are still stuck in labor. Very depressing. I wish and hope the *&$%!*#@ at Philly and Dallas get their act together and there is a flurry of labor approvals in the next few weeks..

My H1 Visa and I-94 are expiring on Jan 20, 2009. It can be extended till Apr 2011 as I have been in US only for 3 Yrs and 8 Months. My current employer is not extending my Visa, so I am going to get it extended through another company, say COMPANY ABC (a Staffing company basically).
However, I don't want to be with Company ABC because I am soon going to get a job with a direct client, CLIENT XYZ, but that won't happen until Jan 25th or so.
So my question is, if I apply for extension through COMPANY ABC for now, just so that I don't go 'out of status' on Jan 20th, will CLIENT XYZ be able to apply for my extension on Jan 25th, while my application with Company ABC is still pending? Or they (CLIENT XYZ) will have to wait until my first application (With COMPANY ABC) is processed?
Basically, just want to know if a Company ABC has filed for H1 Transfer and I-94 extension before the expiry date, can another Company XYZ file for an extension/transfer after the expiry while the application from company ABC is still being processed?
Any help is appreciated. I have posted this query on couple of other posts but no one seems to know the answer! no one replied yet

My wife is doing her MBA in H4. My PD is July 2008. Being on H4, you can save a lot of money in fees. And also you never know, If at all the visa re-capture bill is passed, you might able to file I-485. So My advice is to continue on H4.
