I'm certainly not worried about the people shooting at clay pigeons or paper cups.
I'm concerned about the large number of deaths and injuries caused each year by firearms.
31,224 deaths [2007 WISQARS (http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_sy.html)]
66,769 non-fatal injuries [2009 WISQARS (http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/nfirates2001.html)]
Sure, and I could easily find stats for deaths caused by automobiles and speeding.
Maybe we need a law that prohibits the manufacture of vehicles capable of traveling more than 65 mph. After all the speed limit in most places is 65, a few places are 75.

Although the data transferred may be the same or more with on-demand streams, when it's live there will be much higher simultaneous usage. With high-end hosting in general, simultaneous usage is the killer and not really total bandwidth usage. With the popularity of Apple these days the number of simultaneous streams could be extremely high (I mean, if MacRumors gets 100,000 visitors simultaneously think what Apple would get themselves).
I don't think expense is the issue here.
Apple can either:
1. Offer the stream only to the stores
2. Pay for massive bandwidth. Have you seen the profit from last quarter alone?! The people watching would most probably have bought an apple product of 5 recently!

"Jobs apparently warned that while Apple was not a litigious company ..." This must be a hoax. We can't seriously be expected to believe that Jobs would say such a thing. Apple is infamous for suing or threatening suits on the most trivial matters ....

I believe the scope of a wireless iPod, or any other mass distributed wireless product, will go further than music and playlists. Its already implemented in museums, etc. as downloadable tour guides; when you enter a town you can get your hands on local maps, local news, history; we might soon see ad boards that will allow you to download more info on products and services there are endless possibilities.
Your idea sounds a lot like Bill Gate's smart fridge telling the us that our milk is going bad and that we should buy a new carton the next time we are at the supermarket.:D :D

I own a 27 inch iMac because I want a big, powerful computer. I own an iPhone because I want a small portable phone that allows me to check my email while I am gone.
I don't want a 27 inch iMac that's a giant iPhone running an mobile OS. I don't want a small phone that's running a full blown computer OS that's way to complicated and overkill for such a weak, small mobile device. People saying they want iOS to replace OSX on all desktops is like saying they want Windows Mobile to replace Windows all together. No offense, but its a stupid idea.
That's great if all you do if check email and browse the web on your $2,000 computer. There's other people out there that actually use their computer for other things besides checking Facebook on their $2,000 computer.
I don't mind if they merge features back and forth between the two. Features that make sense and wont hinder the two from performing their main functionality. One being a computer OS while the other being a small, mobile device OS.
OS X has been the best computer OS ever made, and was the best decision for Apple in buying out NexT and building their next generation computer OS after it. I hope they keep making a computer OS as well as a mobile OS.

well i got a new motherboard and processor for my third i7 system. i also put in 4 GPUs in it as well. i have it running all 4 GPUs and a bigadv unit in a VM, but i'm not sure if the bigadv VM is working right. it didn't look quite right when i left, but i had to leave. i guess i'll find out in 3 days if it's working or not
What GPU's do you have in it? Are they new or some you already had? It will be interesting to see how the bigadv units work on it. I think you said it is an i7 920? Do you have it OC'd?
I need to figure out how to set up VM's to see if they could be usefull for me.

You might well be right, but good luck trying to explain anything novel and technical to the police if it doesn't involve war-driving or hasn't been featured in the tabloids.
With the best will in the world, it may also be hard for them to accept your word for it in this matter without independent certified experts or a pre-existing writeup in their manual.
Wait 10 years, then try again, and you'll have a new generation of young coppers who all played with xbox when they were kids and will understand you perfectly.
The guy working on my case actually understands most of what I am telling him. He knows quite a bit about networking and how a wireless network works. I did have to explain to one officer that an IP address on a wireless network was not a physical location. I think she thought it was an exact location of where a device was located.
Well $1000 is grand larceny. Thats not to be taken lightly. Do you know anybody in law enforcement where you live? I would take you're logs that you have made to the police. Ask to sit down with somebody and go over all the logs. Explain it to them like its 3rd grade math.
Also check the local pawn stores, ask if they have any 360s. First place to look when you get something stolen.
I've been checking up on the local game shops and a few pawn shops in the area.
Whoever stole it is still going online with it although they have not played a game. I had the Monster HD cables for the system and they only work on an HD TV. You hook it up to an SD TV and you get no video at all. I think they keep powering up the system and trying to make it work but have no clue what they are doing.

I'm aware of that ulbador, and my point is that like any other language.. you get better with time & practice. Nobody FORCES you or dejo to read my threads, or answer them. If you see lack of objective-C fundamentals, just go to another thread (for Pros), is that simple. Some people like to help, others laugh, others ignore you or get frustrated because they can't read ... who cares man, if you don't like the thread just go to another one but never try to discourage a person who's starting to learn, that I'm against.
(about the code) Thanks for pointing that out, I needed a variable, after that I created a timer appropriately and used the variable as a reference to trigger my cancel methods (invalidate).

Are you just kidding?
Oh well I will just answer it just in case.
Vista = version 6 :(
Windows 7 = version 7 :) No blue screen ever just in case anyone is wondering.
Windows 8 = version 8 :D When it comes out, 2015?
Actually I have seen a number of explanations on this thread from people who use Windows more than myself. The answer to why it is "7" does not seem to be well known even to Windows users.
Because it took them 7 years to get it right.
LOL. And counting.
Does that mean it took Apple 10 years to get OSX right? :p
Actually 10 comes after 9.

Haha, nope.
This is the company that released an EDGE phone as it's first model. No way they're jumping to LTE this early in the game.

I have to say, this is the dumbest idea I've ever seen come out of Cupertino. Even worse than the Newton.
I feel sorry for the tools who download this.
I'm one if the "tools" that downloaded it. I appreciate you feeling sorry for me but I don't need it if I'm downloading apps from an iOS device. I need it if I'm in Japan or anyone of the people affected by tragedy ruining there life. Please feel sorry for them and maybe donate $5 to the relief efforts.

Excuse me if this was already suggested:
Perhaps allow a post that receives a certain number of dislikes to be "hidden" from a general view unless someone decides to view it by clicking on a link.
Similar to how a moderator can you a deleted post, but for the general public.

I will still be extremely happy if the only thing he announces is 802.1x capability for the iPhone/touch. Maybe it will come in the form of the 1.1.3 update! But, on to other things:
Obviously a MacBook Air (stupid name)
Movie Rentals
I dont think a 3G iPhone announcement this early because then not many people would buy the phone until the 3G version actually comes out.
iPhone/touch SDK demo.
Finishes with a song by The Killers...:D

Now what would really get me interested is a flat screen that displays truly black blacks.
I also waited for ACD with led backlight.
So which comes first ADC with led or xraid with sata disks?
And what year?
