While I am willing to believe that the iPhone5 won't be available in June/July (no none announced it for that time and it is only 'expected' by people because it was that way the last couple of years, but nothing official) - I don't think that AT&T Customer Reps know anything about it. Same goes for Apple Store Employees and probably 99.9% of the people employed by Apple.

No more samsung parts for you apple!
And no more money for Samsung!
There are tons of vendors just waiting in-line to pickup Samsung's Apple contracts.
Samsung is truly "biting the hand that feeds them!"
Samsung share holders see the writing on the wall. Samsung's calculated risk of copying Apple verbatim is not going to payoff in the long run...sell, sell, sell.

Specs don't mention IPS panel like with previous models.
It is mentioned in the screen section under features.

If Lion does give you the ability to emulate iOS apps on your Mac....
How do you control them? A touch-screen iMac is a non-starter because of the "Frankenstein Posture", not to mention the smudges on the screen. A touch-screen laptop wouldn't be much better. I don't like the lying-down-iMac like in that recent patent, but maybe that's just me.
The Magic Trackpad is already a touchscreen, just with no display behind it. What if a new one came out with a display and some kind of ARM processor? (It could be an old, really cheap onethe Mac would be doing the heavy lifting.) You could pretend it was an iDevice, download apps for it, interact with them on the trackpad while the main display mirrored what you were doing.
Building the same functionality into laptop trackpads would be a later step, if this caught on, but wouldn't such a Magic Trackpad be an iDevice: "iX", associated with a "Mac", that they just haven't thought up a name for yet? It would debut this summer with Lion, to take advantage of the fusion between iOS and OS X.

I think some of you have the wrong understanding of this 'non-touch' concept. You'll still be touching the screen. The purpose of the non-touch technology is to hide the scroll wheel (or any other controller) whenever it's not needed. But I think you'll still be touching the screen to actually activate the virtual buttons. That's my reading of it, anyways.
What you describe sounds less 'cool', but is probably more workable and more likely. Still, it would mean the controls (such as the scroll wheel) can appear anywhere you touch the screen, so the scroll wheel is under your thumb regardless of whether you're left or right handed.

Well I got to irvine way late. Walked up and the person in front of me got the last ticket. They seemed to have less than 50-70units as that how many people seemed to be in line.
Mission Viejo? Or just wait?
Is this at the spectrum?

Sorry was not trying to be too sexist there and not no they do not always need to be under the protection of a man.
It is more one of those depending on the area. Most areas it is not really a big deal but in others it would be a better idea. It is just one of many tools in a rather large inventor to help manage your risk profile.
It ones of those it depends things.
Sure, I get your point and it's a valid one.
It makes me glad I live in such a relatively safe city.

Maybe it is universal - perhaps in Lion every OS application/Finder window toolbar is going to be in pimp-style leather? :o

Call me crazy, but I'd not be surprised if Leopard was a free update for Tiger owners - if not all Mac owners. A great way to steal a good bit of Vista's thunder and address those absurd "Mac OS costs $5000 if you've bought every version and Windows only costs $100" complaints.

No, I wasn't even discussing what SHOULD BE included. I was discussing what was stated regarding the current situation of consoles and HD. What aren't you understanding?
My mistake, sorry. I got mixed-up between your replies to kevin.rivers, who replied to bigmc6000...
Really depends on yoru defintion of success. Popularity wise it's been successful (360 is helped solely by the fact it's the only HD player out there right now)
Maybe he meant "the only high-def console" on the market right now with the PS3 still a few months away?

Why would you need 64 bit for a MBA? To fly off those huge sample libraries that the processor would lock up over?
64 bit is only for massive memory allocations and a MBA doesn't even have the CPU to pull it off...
Well, for starters, to prevent the damn year 2038 problem.
Seriously though, there are a few benefits of running in 64 bit mode even on older processors. memory mapped files for bigger files that would otherwise use up more than the 32 bit address space are now possible and 64 bit registers can speed up a few types of programs, even those that don't deal with very large datasets.
By your line of thinking, who needs 64 bit at all ? My 233 mhz UltraSparc II should have just been a 32bit processor.
The plain fact is the C2D is a capable x86-64 processor, there's no good reason to hold it back with a 32 bit kernel.

It's only BS to you, I don't obsess over appearances, I buy functionality. My self image is not tied to a phone.
Yet it's Apples brilliance, that realizes the average persons low self esteem and need to be seen with cool toys.
They know that great styling causes the consumer to ignore many faults or shortcomings in the product.
That said I'm noticing an interesting trend, it's the feminization of the iPhone.
With its diminutive size and proliferation of jeweled cases, I see more women with iPhones.
Next, with Verizons excellent Droid campaign, its become the mans phone of choice.
Larger, masculine, great new apps for men, not fart apps for juveniles, the rise in Droid X phones is remarkable and highly visible here in Los Angeles and Orange County.
I know at 6'2" the larger phone is far more comfortable to hold, especially for longer calls and such.
I'm enjoying my Android phones immensely.
My Antennagate 4, not so much.
So Apple ties it's image to low self-esteem women, while Android does the same for low self-esteem men? Thats how I interpreted this argument, though, I might have completely missed the point. Mind clarifying? Basically you make it sound like you bought the Android because of how it portrays what a man's phone should be (all about image). Hey then again who doesn't buy a product based on look, feel, or functionality right?

No issues with any of those updates on AT&T.
Actually the reason for the battery drain is Apple updated the network baseband vocoder to the latest support UMTS/HSPA+ and better cell hand-offs in order to reduce dropped calls to an absolute minimum on GSM and similar on Verizon...
You get a trade off, worse battery life (some of it has to do with the software though, drain the BATTERY ENTIRELY, and recharge it should get to 80%-90% now... ALSO DO A SETTINGS RESET BECAUSE your phone is running on OLD settings PREVIOUS to 4.3.2) but improved performance in everything else or crappy voice calls because your iPhone can't use the latest network capacity enhancements AT&T/*insert GSM carrier here*/Apple has made or Verizon/*insert CDMA carrier here*/Apple has made.
Personally I like PERFECT VOICE QUALITY on GSM/CDMA.
When I'm @ work I charge on the computer/USB port anyways... Or in the car...
