Your lawyer does not know what he is talking about. There is no need to do anything. If you were on H1-B and still working at the same company, you are still under H1-B not under EAD no matter how you entered the USA.
You will lose H1B status if and ONLY IF, you use EAD.
AP is only a re-entry permit and has no effect on your immigration status.

A similiar situation happened with my friend, his green card was in his wallet and his wallet got stolen from his car. Just call USCIS and they will tell you how to apply for a replacement card. If you even want to travel outside the country before you get your replacement card, they will stamp your passport indicating that you have a green card. My friend got his passport stamped and travelled outside the country twice using that stamp. Its not a problem but as usual everything with USCIS costs a lot. So the cost for the replacement cards will be high.

why would someone having a GC want a H1 i don't understand. If her hubby is a GC holder obviously she might also be a GC holder. She has rights to work anywhere and for anyone in US.
If she is still in the process of gettin her GC then she might want to go in for H1 as it takes nearly 2 to 3 yrs for a spouse to get GC if she or he didn't apply during AOS

I am a Citizen that is petitioning my husband of 5 years. We received a letter in March'08 to be present at an interview in Charlotte, NC. We gathered all of the required documentation to provide. Once there, and called in with the Immigration officer, we began our interview process. She was satisfied with all of the information, and tangible proof, we provided. She asked my husband for his passport in order to stamp his I-551 and that meant we were approved. Unfortunately, my husband's passport had been expired for some time and she could not stamp it. What do we do? He works and it will cause heartache and financial stress if he looses his job as the company has strict rules about what documentation you must present in order to remain employed. Please help. Since we have not received a letter from USCIS and the status is still pending, we are unsure of what we should do at this point. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
You can ask your husband to go to the nearest Embassy/consulate of his country to extend his passport. Check their website or call them to ask them how fast you can renew it.

Sadly fantastic as Photoshop is it's not vector based, so anything you export to Flash can end up looking weird and stretched.
Have you tried using Illustrator? It's very similar to Photoshop in the effects and tools that you have available, with the added advantage that is is vector based. So you can draw in Illustrator and then export it into a Flash movie.
The only thing I'd add to this is that sometimes it will throw up errors about .eps files (no idea why) and you have to export it as a .swf and import that into Flash. Either way though, this should solve the problem.

Its very unlikely that the body/staff of USCIS that is currently processing 485 and doing a really pathetic job of approving 140,000 I-485 files a year today is going to be assigned the job of processing 11 million illegals.
If that were to happen, those illegals would die of old age before being processing by the USCIS.
They would setup another office, actually many office to process these illegals, 11 million. That is most likely to happen. Besides, they would not be eating away from EB greencard quota. There simply isnt enough in there to do that. And I am sure lawmakers are not going to point 11 million people to eat out of a quota of 140,000 a year. That would take 70 years to process just illlegals. Do you think congress would pass an immigration reform bill that solves this problem of 11 million current illegals in 70 years?

As the way I understood it, even your PD is not current, they are starting to pre-adjudicate some cases so that the Visa Center would know more or less how many visas are needed and how big the backlog is. This effort tries to eliminate unused visas and utilize most of it. So the way I see it is, USCIS pre-adjudicates cases, then those who are "pre-approve" will be sorted on a different place maybe database which will be submitted to the Visa Center. Now, once your PD comes (Visa Center is the one responsible for monthly Visa Bulletin), Visa Center will tell USCIS that this case is ok, USCIS then sends you your GC.

Hi. I realized that I made a mistake when filling out the I 485 Part Three:

I made a mistake on the I485 form Part Three Processing Information. Specifically, I filled in the I-94 number issued for my H1B as the "Nonimmigration Visa Number", instead of the visa number I got when I was still in F1 Student status.
I called USCIS twice and they informed me that I can make corrections after I get the receipt--I can send in a corrected form, along with a letter explaining the correction, and also a copy of the receipt.
I was wondering whether anyone here had done that before.
I am kicking myself for misunderstanding the form! Please help!

I thought about it again and think everyone has the right to post on forum as much as you. If IV does not like it, they will delete it. If you do not like a thread do not read it. Who is forcing you to read a thread? If you want to read something specific to your interest, there is a nice website I found recently. It is called 'Google'. First there is no concept of H1 Transfer. Your new employer applies for a new H1. You will not be counted towards the quota. The h4 is a derivative of your H1 and will need to be applied along with your h1 visa. It is fraud to use the old visa if you no longer work for that company and USCIS is very strict. If you are caught you will sent back at the poe and your H1 and her H4 will be cancelled and you guys will be in trouble. You will hear a lot of cok and bull my friend stories about how ppl have gotten through. The systems at the poe are no longer as primitive as you think and any discrepancy will result in denial of entry into the us. Contact a lawyer before doing any thing related to immigration. Hope this helps.

Later we travelled to India in 2005, got both H1 and H4 stamped, returned without any questions being asked. I think for H4, the need for renewal comes when the I94 expires, not when the H1 is transferred, because the new I94 will also have same number if it had not expired .
