Have you repaired permissions with disk utility? I've never experienced this problem before, you may have to reload the OS (archive and install).

Using your numbers that's $80/year, or 20% off. Not bad for doing basically nothing.
For what it's worth, you can get .Mac packages on eBay for $50. I did earlier this week and have already renewed using the Auth Key.
Again, see my post just above where I listed URL to a How-To I posted on how to save on DotMac. There are different ways to search that should help you if you've only been able to find $80 listings.
Where do you see this? Every ebay auction I see for dotmac ends up being at least $75 or more with $5 shipping at least.
Not that great a deal.

Totally forgot to delete it before I upgraded my internal. Is there a way to delete the bootcamp partition while preserving the original and reallocating the space back to the OSX partition?

In all fairness.. people need to learn how to read. How in your right mind do you place a bid of over $400 without even READING the description. As much as this is a scam.. the guy deserves to lose the money for being stupid.
Not true! People do not deserve not get screwed because they are ignorant.
Anology: your lawyer gives you advise he knows will cause you to lose money.
Your friends think thats a hoot. They think you "deserve to lose money for being stupid".
You don't deserve to lose money because you don't read a contract.
Not arguing the guy should have read the post more carefully, but lets blame the criminal, not the victim.

I have a 3GS with 4.1. I would like to got to 4.2.1. I downloaded the 4.2.1 firmware, when I hit shift-restore 4.2.1 itune gave me an error messaage. Can I use other software to upgrade? Thanks.

As of Monday morning: Menlo Park Mall Apple store = zero. Bridgewater Commons Apple store = zero. Best Buy in East Brunswick = got a new shipment of 32 Gb wi-fi blacks. Plenty left as of 11 AM.
